Linda Barreto
Attorney, Of Counsel

Attorney Linda Barreto has been employed with Lazaro Salazar Law, Inc. since 2014. Currently, Ms. Barreto's role is of counsel to the firm. In addition to being of counsel, Ms. Barreto is a professor of immigration law and the Director of the New American Legal Clinic, located within the Central Valley's only law school, San Joaquin College of Law. 
 
Ms. Barreto’s experience is vast, spanning from complex cases including citizenship, adjustment of status, family based petitions, U visas, extreme hardship waivers and removal defense before immigration court. Additionally, Ms. Barreto has significant experience representing minors in guardianship or custody cases for petitions regarding Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

Ms. Barreto was born and raised in the Central Valley. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of California, Merced where she graduated with high honors. She completed her juris doctorate degree at San Joaquin College of Law, where she was honored with several Witkin Awards for academic excellence. Passionate to serve the valley, Ms. Barreto often volunteers at community events for the migrant community.

Ms. Barreto is licensed in California. She is also admitted to practice in the Executive Office for Immigration Review (immigration court) in all locations across the United States. Ms. Barreto is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, The American Bar Association and the Fresno County Bar Association. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
